See real horses at the Denver Firefighters Museum for our first Fire Vehicle Deep Dive! Learn how hand- and horse-drawn fire vehicles started in Denver and how they changed over time. Darrin from Mountain Shadow Carriages will be at the museum as our amazing horse expert and a firefighter himself! Watch how his horses pull a carriage just like the horses on the Denver Fire Department did a century ago.
The two-hour program will include guided exploration of the museum's hand- and horse-drawn vehicles led by museum staff followed by a guided explanation of the horses fire departments used and time with the Mountain Shadow Carriages team. If time allows, there will also be time at the end of the program to explore the museum and gift shop.
