Accessibility

The DFM is housed in a 1909 firehouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means that our historic building may not meet all ADA requirements.

The main entrance is wheelchair accessible and does not require a ramp. Access to the second floor is by stairs only. A stroller parking area is available on the first floor.
We want your museum experience to be the best one possible! If you need any accommodations or have questions, please contact us at 303-892-1436 or info@denverfirefightersmuseum.org

Visitor guidelines. Be an expert museum visitor!

Help us preserve and protect the history of the Denver Fire Department by following these simple guidelines:

  • Please keep all food and drink outside the museum (with the exception of sealed baby bottles and water)
  • Remind young visitors to use inside voices and walking feet
  • Photography is permitted for private, noncommercial use
  • Look with your eyes only except at activity areas with pictures of our Mascot Squirt.
  • Backpacks, large bags and umbrellas are not allowed in the museum as they frequently damage exhibits.
  • If you have any questions, please feel free to ask at our front desk or approach a staff member
