Fire is a chemical reaction! Learn the science behind fire, how it works, what it needs to burn, and how we can prevent fires with this information.

Engineering in the Firehouse
From the days of bucket brigades to the mechanized vehicles we have today, engineers continue to develop new firefighting technologies. Come learn about the history and exciting future of firefighting technology. You’ll even get to design your own special firefighting equipment!

2025 childrens fire safety classes
Squirt's Fire Safety Classes
Join us for a fire safety class designed just for preschool-aged children and their adult. These classes teach important fire safety concepts like: My Friend the Firefighter, Crawl Low Under Smoke, and Safe For Play! Keep Away! During each class, we will learn and practice these life-saving concepts through books, videos, and engaging hands-on activities.
Reservations are required to ensure appropriate supplies.
Each class is free with the cost of Museum admission (Adults: $9.00, Children over 3 years: $7.00, Children under 3 years: Free). Library passes may not be used for museum programs or special events.

Fire Vehicle Deep Dives
