Firehouse Tales

Stories and Memories from Denver Firefighters

Firefighters are some of the best story tellers ever to spin a yarn. And, they are happy to regale you with tales of days gone by. They speak of tradition, the pranks, the brotherhood, the fires, and the loss of life. They tell stories about the trucks, the engines and the companies that manned them. Some of the stories are gut-wrenching, tear-jerkers. Some are so funny you laugh for hours. While some are tall tales thrown in to just make sure you’re listening.

The Denver Firefighters Museum has been collecting their stories for over fifteen years. We are proud to honor and immortalize these veterans of the fire service by saving their stories for the generations to come. On this page, we invite you to listen to some of their stories as they share their rich history filled with wonderful traditions.
